Josephine Yakaboski of Calverton died March 5 at Westhampton Care Center. She was 101.
She was born Nov. 14, 1917, to Clara (Zambriski) and Joseph Tyska.
Ms. Yakaboski married her husband, Frank, in 1967 and became a homemaker.
She was a member of St. Isidore R. C. Church in Riverhead and St. Isidore’s Altar Rosary Society. Her family said she enjoyed gardening, bingo and playing cards.
Ms. Yakaboski was predeceased by her husband. She is survived by sons Francis and Donald, both of Calverton; three grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitors will be received Friday, March 8, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. A service will take place Saturday, March 9, at 9:30 a.m., at the church, followed by interment at its cemetery.
