Alice H. Galka of Riverhead died at Hamptons Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing Dec. 19. She was 91.
She was born July 27, 1928, to Mary and Frank Pierzchanowski in Riverhead.
Ms. Galka graduated from Riverhead High School and was employed as a house attendant at Little Flower Children’s Home. She enjoyed gardening, bingo and her grandchildren.
Ms. Galka was predeceased by her husband, Theodore, in 2008 and daughter Rosemary in 2001. She is survived by her children Richard of Florida, Thomas of Calverton, David of Florida, Beverly Courtney of Riverhead and Theodore Jr. of Florida; 13 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
Visitors will be received Sunday, Dec. 22, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. A Mass will take place Monday, Dec. 23, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Isidore R.C. Church in Riverhead. Interment will follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
