Eleanor Schriefer of Southold died April 13, 2016, at Stony Brook University Hospital. She was 86.
She was born in Queens Jan. 15, 1930 to Stanley and Nellie (Chryanowska) Novick.
In August of 1960, she married John Malcom Schriefer and together they have made their home in Southold for the past 60 years.
In addition to her husband “Malcolm,” she is survived by four daughters, Susan Nobile of Southold, Linda (Ted) Kucin of Riverhead, Barbara (Steven) Donahue of Cincinnati, Ohio and Carol (Brett) Kehl of Southold and five grandchildren; Michael Nobile, Stephen Best, Adam Best, Amanda Donahue and Nicholas Donahue. She was predeceased by two siblings, John Novick and Julie Novick Casobona.
The family will receive visitors Sunday, April 17, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Southold. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 18, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart R.C. Cemetery in Cutchogue.
